INTRODUCTION
Believing in Jesus was very difficult for the Jewish people because of the teachings and culture that taught about keeping God's commandments. As children, many of them learned the laws and definitions of sin. They were also told that in order to be found righteous in God’s eyesight, they needed to uphold a standard of holiness according to the Old Laws and commands. However, as time continued, the Israelites found themselves constantly on the fence about whether they wanted to be God’s chosen people or if they wanted to embrace other cultures and customs. The weight of knowing God but not following Him must have been hard; but, the enticement of their carnality and popularity outweighed the scriptural teachings that they grew up hearing.
The Israelite Bible specifically instructs them, “thou shall not kill or bear false witness and worship other gods,” yet, they still chose to disobey the One True God. Their complicit behavior to allow the Romans to crucify a man that proclaimed to be fully man and fully divine began the process of redemption for the world. Although the Jewish leaders during this time did not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, when expressed to them, “He that believes in me shall not perish but have everlasting life” and “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” One final word to them was, “when you have seen me, you have seen the Father” Jesus still understood that their role in salvation and reconciliation starts with them.
Paul presents to the listeners in Rome THE PROPOSAL after he outlined his case that the chosen people needed redemption and reconciliation. Each chapter previously read is a case for redemption and salvation. Jesus' mission on earth was to preach first to the Jewish people.
Now, let’s discuss Romans Chapter 10 as it relates to the Jewish Community.

DISCUSSION VERSE:
Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV
12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
