0:57 - Google Adsense revenue
Adsense is ads money paid by YouTube to a youtuber. Each ads will have different value depending on many different factors. When you add up all these factors, you will have CPM, which is how much advertisers are paying for every 100 views. I started this channel in January 2020, posting 1 video every week, but earned $0. Even though I earned nothing, I learnt quite a few things along the way, like better scripting, better editing, getting more comfortable talking to the camera.
I continued earning $0 till August, when YouTube finally allowed me to monetize. On my first month, I earned $117.28. For the entire 2020, I earned $3336.43.
Even though me and my wife had to take care of my new born, I manage to consistently upload every week. To top it all up, in 2021, I started posting 2 videos every week. Form January 2021 to June 2021, I earned $13201.61.
Every video that I have uploaded will continue earn money years from now, and that is the power of passive income.
6:20 - Sponsorships revenue
I am unable to share my sponsorship earnings due to non disclosure agreement. But the range is anywhere between $100 to $1000. It’s so low because I only do sponsorships for products or services which I trust, because a YouTuber’s integrity is very important and I wouldn’t exchange it for money.
9:21 - Affiliate links
When someone signs up to a product or service using my link, I will earn a small income. The good thing is that I do not have to do extra work for affiliates, other than to copy paste it into the description. As usual, I’ll only recommend products or services that I find are good. I earned a total of $59763.47 from affiliates.
10:30 - Summary & Future plans
The grand total I have earned is $76401.51 to $77301.51. I will be looking to explore other ways to earn money as a youtuber, eg Patreon, courses, merchandise.
