In this Video I will show you how to change your starting point or the route at the research camp in the New Pokemon Snap game! It took me a little while to figure this out so I hope this will be helpful for someone!
In short, you have to get to the point in the story where you talk to Todd and Rita and they mention starting from a different place, and then after that cutscene, you can then go into Research and back out back to the camp, and depending on what background scene it shows you, that is where you will start in the game.
