Lower transmission in NSW an 'opportunity' to identify areas where COVID-19 is spreading

Deakin University Chair of Epidemiology Professor Catherine Bennett says New South Wales should work with communities while utilising the time in lockdown to communicate the impact of extended family gatherings in households.

“There’s not that much transmission going on still with the lockdown in place, this is the opportunity to identify those areas where they are still seeing spread," Professor Bennett told Sky News Australia.

“And particularly to keep working with communities so that they understand the high risk actually associated with households staying connected through lockdown."
