Goa gangrape case; Can we say state government can't assure us of our security? | The Urban Debate

On The Urban Debate, with Tanvi Shukla, we discuss how minors girls get gang-raped at Benaulim beach, around 30 km south of Goa's capital. The incident took place on Sunday, where 10 children went to a party, out of 10 six returned home. The remaining four, two boys and two girls spent the night on the beach. To this during the debate on a calling attention notice in the house today, Goa Chief minister Pramod Sawant said, “When 14-year-olds stay on the beach the whole night, the parents need to introspect. Just because children don't listen, we cannot put the responsibility on the government and police.” Later, Goa CM Blames their parents for girls being out late at night and asks, why were girls hanging out so late? For now, Sawant told in assembly, All the four accused were arrested Sunday night. Can we say that the state government can't assure us of our security?
