Heat, humidity return after Henri exits

The remnants of Tropical Storm Henri continue to drift away from the region Tuesday as high pressure begins to dominate the weather. We can expect a return to the summer heat Tuesday as skies will be partly cloudy. The high temperature will be 91 in the city, upper 80s over Long Island and the Hudson Valley and low 90s for New Jersey.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and continued hot with a high temperature of 93 degrees.

Thursday will be sunny and sizzling once again with temperatures that will be in the low to mid 90s.

Friday will feature partly sunny skies with showers and thunderstorms developing toward afternoon as a cold front works its way into the region. The high temperature will be 90 degrees.

Cooler temperatures arrive on Saturday as high pressure from Canada will move into the area. The high temperature will be 79 degrees in the city, mid 70s in the suburbs.

Sunday will be partly sunny and pleasant with a high temperature of 81 degrees.
