Kabul faces human catastrophe with large number of refugees

Thousands of people fled their homes across Afghanistan and arrived in Kabul, carrying whatever they could manage, as the Taliban ransacked and burned their houses in villages and cities. ThePrint’s Nayanima Basu visited one such refugee camp in Khairkhana area, a poor neighbourhood in the northwest of Kabul, where at least 6,000 families have come from Takhar, Kunduz, Kandahar and Samangan provinces. They say, they made a mistake coming to Kabul as the Taliban has also taken over the capital.
