Dillon Transport has closed and didn't tell anyone! At midnight they simply closed their doors and the last one out turns out the lights. Dillon Transport has been open for 41 years and was family owned. What happened to them? This just goes to show that no matter where you work you are just a number. Truck drivers should always be ready with enough funds to get themselves home from anywhere in the United States and have money for a few weeks at least until you can secure another job. Just because a trucking company like Dillon is family owned doesn't mean anything and you should put no stock in it. Dillon turned out to be just another Celadon and Falcon, closing their doors with no warning. Can you COBRA your health insurance? Maybe. Any driver that had been at Dillon for a long time is now out their vacation and who knows what happens to any retirement plan they may have had. I believe that this violates the WARN act but nothing will come of it. Another sad day in trucking.
