The Aim Assist debate exploded on social media yesterday after Dr Disrespect tweeted that “without your aim assist, you ain’t nothin”, and Myth replied by saying no controller players are in his top 10 FPS list.
Those tweets lead to a firestorm on Twitter, Twitch, and YouTube, with former pro and current 100 Thieves owner Nadeshot posting a long rant responding to Myth, saying that controller took tons of skill, and that non pros shouldn’t even have a top 10 list because they don’t know anything about the games. Nadeshot also said that controller pros like Karma and Scump would take Myth’s lunch money on controller OR keyboard and mouse.
And while Nadeshot and some other Call of Duty pros like Crimsix and Octane were firmly on the side of team controller, Scump just wanted an end to all the drama. Scump took to his Twitch stream after the debate exploded to say that you should play what you want, use what you like, and stop bitching.
TimTheTatman may have said it the best though, as he simply responded to Dr Disrespect and Myth by tweeting that if you think controller aim assist is broken, just play controller then. Either way, the aim assist debate in esports and competitive games rages on, and clearly there are very strong feelings on both sides.
