Palawan Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez was awarded the Outstanding Governor of the Philippines by the Association of Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines Inc (ALSWDOPI) on 2019.
He now leads the Province of Palawan on its journey to achieve genuine change and inclusive growth through his flagship local initiative for long-term development: I HELP Program, infrastructure development, health care, education, livelihood, and environmental protection.
