Mr J shows me his Specialized S-Works SL 7 in the Picasso colourway.
We discussed which frame is faster, Venge or SL7 and if a SGD700 OSPW offers any significant benefits. I would rather spend that money elsewhere like a new Bottom Bracket, changing to lighter parts (handlebar/stem/crank arms/saddle etc) which will probably make the bike lighter and offer more significant gains as compared to a OSPW. I can’t deny that having a OSPW looks great on the bike and is something to show off.
Are you a team Venge or team SL7? I’m still not convinced by the looks of the SL7 and I’m sticking to the Venge (purely for the looks and the fact that some people are saying that the Venge is still faster on the flats). I know that the Venge is made for flats and not climbs, whereas the SL7 is made for both. I can attest that I do struggle on the climbs with the Venge. Disclaimer: I’ve not ridden the SL7. This is just purely my opinion and is, of course, up for debate. What are your thoughts (if you have both the Venge and SL7)?
