MiHoYo buff this feature in version 2.2 is actually very helpful for endgame players who hoarding their Artifacts to a 1000 pieces, the reason is they don't want to throw a good sub stat artifacts but they don't have a fodder to upgrade the artifacts, especially for an F2P Players who save their Freemogems or Free Primogems for a character banner, and never refill a resins for artifact farming..
This feature will be useful for early farming for an Upcoming character Arataki Itto and Gorou in Version 2.3.
