The movie began with a helicopter landing in front of a facility. After landing, the helicopter opened and a black car drove out of it. Professor Kuppelweiser exited the parked car and was ushered into a building by mysterious men. Two others, Albert and Max, were washing their hands in a bathroom when the mirror suddenly cracked in front of them. Albert commented that this was a bad sign.
The three men were there to attend an interview about the first human hibernation experiment that would be conducted by the Doctor. Max and Albert were the volunteers who would undergo the experiment. Previously, the professor had successfully allowed a chimpanzee to hibernate for half a year. Unlike the chimpanzee, Max and Albert were scheduled to spend 3 years in hibernation. The interviewer believed this was a big day for humanity and science.
A moment later, the two men got into the hibernation pods. The pods closed over them and slotted into the wall. The timer began to count how long they’d been in the pods.
In the next scene, Albert and Max both woke up from their long slumber, only to discover that they couldn’t see anything, including the four people in white masks who stood over them. The people in white masks responded that this was normal after hibernation. Both men wanted to know if the experiment had ended. The people in white told them it had.
Next, Albert and Max were on beds in a white room. They appeared to be suffering side effects from the hibernation, but weren’t too concerned. Suddenly the door to the room opened to admit three women with trays of food. Max tried to joke with them, but the women did not laugh. Max then complained that his croissant was stale. A woman twisted the croissant open, revealing that it was just a container. The actual food was inside. Even knowing how to eat the food, the men still found it tasteless. The women told them the food was to help them adapt. Max and Albert assumed this was another part of the experiment. After the women left, Max retrieved cigarettes that he had smuggled into the pod before the experiment.
