Continuing the series, “Love This City,” Pastor Michael Wittwer preaches on how to be generous with 4 habits of a generous heart.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. God showed his love for us by giving his son. Love is expressed through generosity and we too are here to show the generosity of Jesus to our city. Here are the 4 habits of a generous heart we learn from Jesus:
Stop: Jesus stopped on his way to save the world
Look: Jesus paid attention to those who were overlooked
Listen: Jesus actively listened and was not prone to interrupting
Ask: Jesus asked the intentional question of what he could do for others
Jesus emulated these habits: Stop, Look, Listen, Ask. He still does. Are these habits for you already?

Series Overview: Love This City
We are put here on purpose. The church is called the body of Christ, the image of God in creation today. This is a biblically rich idea that we often miss. Humanity was made to represent God in his creation, but the fall messed that up. In Jesus we are the beginnings of a new creation, unmarred by sin. But we live in a fallen world as representatives of him and his immense love for the world he made. Now the job of the church in every nook and cranny of the world is to be the image of God! So, for Life Center, we are put here on purpose to love THIS city, making his love, forgiveness and grace known to Spokane and the world around us, inviting others into the kingdom of God, the new creation that is now but not yet. We are forerunners for the best that is yet to come.
