In the mutual interest of Bangladesh and Oman, the two countries could explore the possibility of signing a Bilateral Priority Trade Agreement (PTA) or a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to maximize trade benefits, the foreign minister said. This is Abdul Momen. He said, “Bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Oman has increased in the last decade, but very little. We have a lot of opportunities to increase bilateral trade and diversify trade products.The foreign minister was speaking at a webinar titled 'Bangladesh-Oman Bilateral Trade: Challenges and Opportunities' on Sunday (September 12th) to mark the golden jubilee of the Mujib Year and Bangladesh's Independence Day. This information was given in a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (September 14).The Foreign Minister said Bangladesh is exporting international quality products like readymade garments, ceramics, medicines, leather goods, frozen fish, jute and jute products, processed food to Europe, United States and other countries of the world. "Our country's traders are optimistic about exporting most of their products to Oman at more competitive prices," he said.
