Leading figures from organizations, sports, and entertainment gather on October 20, 2021, for PaleyImpact: The Role of Entertainment and Social Media in Combating Antisemitism, moderated by Malina Saval, to address fighting antisemitism via the dispelling of myths and stereotypes on entertainment and social media platforms. Maureen J. Reidy, Paley Center President & CEO, offers opening comments. Panel topics include: the benefits of educating those who flaunt prejudices vs. ""cancel culture""; the ability of live theater to personalize the Jewish experience and result in conversation at the play's conclusion; why conspiracy theories about ""Jews controlling the world"" persist; Edelman's experiences in reaching out to fellow athletes DeSean Jackson and Meyers Leonard after they made antisemitic comments; utilizing movies and television shows as vehicles to break through stereotypes; Israeli-born Raz's attempts to quell prejudice between Jews and Arabs; and how it will become clear that progress has been made toward stamping out antisemitism.
